The new 2012 model year Land Rover Defender gets new update with a new turbo diesel engine and the introduction of two new option packages.The most important change of course is the new, EU5 compliant, 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine that replaces the EU4 2.4-litre oil-burner found in the 2011MY Defender. Land Rover Defender sales begin in November with prices starting from £20,995 on the road for UK.
2012 Land Rover Defender support by the new four-cylinder diesel delivers the same power and torque as the outgoing unit with 122PS at 3,500rpm and torque, 360Nm (265.5 lb-ft) at 2,000rpm. The new model more frugal and delivers lower levels of the regulated emissions, NOx, CO and HC than its predecessor, thanks to a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The LR Defender offer two new optional packages, including:

* Comfort Pack – Air conditioning, CD Player with auxiliary input, electric windows and remote central locking, priced at £1650.
* Off-Road Pack – ABS, heavy duty rim and MTR tyre, tow ball and under-ride protection bar, priced at £1500.

The 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 range of models on sale in the UK from late September 2010, has a 2.2-liter diesel engine is available with the new versions of 150 hp or 190P, a new exterior look interior modifications, including new dashboard and a new Premium Pack option.




New turbo diesel engine is available in 4WD Land Rover TD4 150 hp model with manual transmission and intelligent Stop / Start technology standard (automatic, without the stop / start is available as an option), or a new model produces 190PS SD4 (also available with automatic transmission only).
The new engine is quieter, more efficient and the two derivatives with 20 Nm torque than the engine output. This means that the Freelander 2 2011 offers improved engine response and midrange power for towing. CO2 emissions have been reduced significantly to 165g/km and 185g/km respectively, the corresponding fuel savings.

De
spite the reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, there has been no compromise on performance. The Lighthouse Land Rover Freelander SD4 190p accelerates from rest to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds with a top speed increased to 118 mph. Land Rover Freelander TD4 150 hp manual and automatic versions match the performance of their predecessors.

Besides being upgraded from EU4 EU5, both versions have a variable geometry turbocharger and new have been extensively recalibrated to provide new levels of power, to meet emission standards and reduce CO2 emissions. They are equipped with a diesel particulate filter as standard and are now compatible catalyzed with 10 percent biodiesel, rather than 5 percent.

Land Rover launches new 2011 Land Rover Defender X-Tech Limited Edition at the Brussels Motor Show 2011.

Land Rover Defender X-Tech offers a raw and edgy style, class-leading all-terrain feature would you think of this icon of motoring.

The exterior is available in Zermatt silver, enhanced by a contrasting black finish Santorini roof and wheel arches. For the first time, the Ombudsman is equipped with wheels gloss black 16-inch alloy single sawtooth, to create a sense of utilitarianism in the first place.

The interior is available in ebony and seats, the addition of lateral forces in leather, a more refined finish.

Land Rover Defender X-Tech is available in 90 hard top commercial derivative, with a full range of accessories are also available to improve the skills and individuality.

Powered by the 2.4-liter common rail diesel engine, the Defender boasts fuel economy and performance with 360 Nm torque for towing and performance improvement effort on the road.

The Land Rover Defender X-Tech Limited Edition will be available from March 2011 of £ 24.995.
