How Much Is Laser Tattoo Removal - Is It Really Worth It?

Monday, May 13, 2013

For those of you who've got the name of an ex partner permanently inked on your body or someone who has a very embarrassing tattoo from when they were young (or a drunken night) then you are probably think how much is laser tattoo removal going to cost you. This procedure is one of the widely known methods that actually works to remove unwanted tattoos from the surface of the skin. The real question however in fact is is it really worth it paying for the surgical way to remove your ink?
For those of you who haven't heard about laser surgery, it is the method of having a laser remove your tattoo.
The Process
The process is fairly simple, you see a qualified surgeon and they sit or lie you down on a chair depending on the area of your unwanted tattoo. Once you are comfortable a piece of machinery that emits short bursts of high intensity lasers is used on the area. The laser attacks the pigments under the tattoo making it lighter than it is.
How Long Does It Take?
The procedure can last anywhere between 10-30 minutes depending on the size of your ink but what you must understand is that you will have to go through this procedure for a few sessions which will be spread over weeks or months (depending on the size) to completely erase the skin.
Does It Hurt?
When it comes down to the pain factor I can tell you that people have said that the procedure is like getting hot oil poured on you whilst others have said it's just like getting pinged with an elastic band. It is all about your pain threshold but however high (or low) it is many people have said that it is more painful than getting the tattoo applied!
Side-Effects
Yes there are side-effects to this method. The most common one being permanent scarring to the skin after going through the surgery.
Another side-effect that crops up a lot is the skin that heals back sometimes comes back lighter or darker than the actual skin itself!
How Much Is Laser Tattoo Removal?
Obviously I can't state a specific price since some places charge by hour, some by session and some for the overall thing. It also depends on the size and life (how long ago you got it done) of the tattoo. All I can tell you is that if you are willing to burn a hole in your wallet and your skin then this is the method for you!
Without knowing how much laser tattoo removal is and knowing the risks, pain and side-effects is it really worth it? Especially when there are natural methods that you can use to Erase Tattoo ink which won't cause pain, scarring, abrasion or any other side-effect that the expensive surgery costs! These methods use natural products and are cheap too, what more could you want?!
